Pokémon, as with all worldwide phenomena, grew larger than the sum of its parts. When the Gameboy game and TV show went global, the franchise gave rise to all manner of merchandise, spin-offs and news stories. Like everything that becomes a smash hit, however, not everything that grew from the seeds in Pokémon's wake was good.

The more people buy PS3s, the more people sign up to the the PSN. The more people sign up to the PSN, the more it costs Sony to keep the thing running.

John Davison helps celebrate our independence with impressions of Too Human. Throw in some Quantum of Solace, PixelJunk Eden, Soul Calibur 4, Wario Land, and Diablo 3, and you got yourself some 1UP Yours. IGN Music writes: "The first thing that jumps out at you about the soundtrack to the latest MGS installment is that well-known Hollywood composer Harry Gregson-Williams provides the core elements to the score. Granted the likes of Japanese composers Nobuko Toda, Shuichi Kobori, Kazuma Jinnouchi, and several others are featured, as well, but its Gregson-Williams' presence that undoubtedly lends the whole affair a big-budget blockbuster vibe.

On their official blog, Team Criterion has written "We're sorry to announce that the Codename: Cagney update for Xbox 360 has been delayed by 4 days. The update is currently with Microsoft and is now on track to be released on 14th July.

Sony Europe has announced that Siren: Blood Curse will be released through the Playstation Store on the 24th of July 2008. Broken into 4 chapters which are downloadable individually, Siren is an episodic reinterpretation of the PS2 horror title.
