Every week when we go to look up the Japanese Virtual Console releases, we look down at the MSX section and notice the projected "2007" release date for EGGY and Aleste and wonder when Nintendo's going to get the memo. We ... just didn't see them meeting that ship date -- not because we don't have faith in Nintendo or in D4 Enterprise, but because 2007 has been over for almost two months now.
Finally, the dates have been changed to something that doesn't require time travel to meet: May 2008. Will either of these games actually come out in May? We're getting impatient ... for games that will probably never be released outside Japan!

It is an art to turn any negative situation to your advantage, and no less so when roleplaying in WoW. In the fine tradition of "turning stumbling blocks into stepping stones," it pays for a roleplayer to reconsider a number of in-game situations which seem to get in the way of roleplaying, yet which actually offer a special opportunity to showcase your creativity...

At DS Fanboy, we like to advocate the idea that any task can be made into a game. Given the right goals and rules, any real-world (or other) activity can be an enjoyable game -- consider the example of Brain Age, which consists of normally boring tasks with timers and scores applied to make a game-like experience...

All those people who say "Roleplaying is dead" simply misunderstand what RP in WoW is all about. It's not at all about stepping into your favorite fantasy novel and acting out an epic story in which you are the great hero, sacrificing everything to save Azeroth from the legions of evil...

Photorealistic visuals have been a goal for developers since the beginning of time. Or thereabouts. So with so much effort being put towards replicating realism, you'd have thought that the new crop of super-powered hi-def consoles would finally make it possible for us to enjoy a blurring of the line between reality and virtuality...

D'oh! It's like reliving the early '90s all over again with a ho-hum Simpsons console game on the market. At least they got the humor right this time ('cause they had the actual Simpsons' writers).

BioShock is a pretty creepy title, and come Halloween people tend to do some pretty creepy things, or maybe they're just funny. For example, dressing up like a Big Daddy, making up your daughter to look like a Little Sister...

European gamers get a little break with a release out there for only 600 points. On top of that, there's four games from which Wii owners may choose. Sometimes, it's good to be a Nintendo fan.

The internet has made it easy to find cheats for games, but we miss the tips pages from game magazines, when the discovery of a new code could inspire you to go back to an old game. These codes aren't exactly new, but oldness is the essence of the Virtual Console! We're bringing back the classic codes every week on The VC Advantage.

One of the many appealing aspects of video gaming is the ability to break things you're not allowed, or able, to break in real life. Cubicle Freakout capitalizes on this by giving you an entire cubicle's worth of business items to lay into, followed by a swift execution of your computer monitor.
