Hothead Games today punched its rambling epic, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One (phew!), with a $19.95 price tag. That's just over 30 cents a letter (colons not included), assuming cost is derived, as it is for all episodic games, by the title's length. Currently, that price applies to all versions of the game, which include PC, Mac, Linux and Xbox Live Arcade editions. 1600 Microsoft Points ($20) would be new territory for digital distribution on Xbox 360, but clearly, Hothead and its two stars have made it a point to be living on the edge.

Sure, we made our own guide to help you share your Mac's internet connection with your Xbox 360, but what if you're one of the few people out there using a Windows box? If you're rocking either Mac OS X (it says here Tiger or Leopard) or Windows Vista or XP, there's a handy guide on Instructables showing you how to use that computer's internet connection to get your Xbox online...

In addition to updating the PlayStation Network store, Sony has updated its online PC counterpart to include the original PS One title Warhawk as a downloadable game. The price is still the same, $5.99, and you can transfer the game from your Memory Stick-equipped PSP to your PS3 so long as you are signed in to the PSN account that originally bought the game...

Ah coincidence, life would be so unmystical without it. We were just saying yesterday that we'd prefer people played Sid Meier's Pirates! over the Pirates of the Caribbean MMO and here comes GameTap announcing the title for the service. If you haven't played Pirates!, the game is a bright and fun romp through the Caribbean with simple pick-up-and-play mechanics that should keep anybody entertained for hours. It's an epic casual title if such a thing exists.

What a quiet week for our GameTap Thursday post. Almost too quiet. Who's there? Oh, it's just the Jericho Squad. The big game this week is Clive Barker's Jericho, available on GameTap since Tuesday for subscribers. This is due to the deal between GameTap and Codemasters making games available on day of release for the next couple years. On the topic of Codemasters on GameTap, if you haven't played Overlord yet, go ahead and try it. Overlord is starting to creep up as a "best game you probably missed" title for our end of the year roundup. Read the rest of this entry ยป
