Cartoonist Luc Bernard tells WiiDS.co.uk that his platformer Eternity's Child is now a WiiWare title coming Q2 2008 for $5. The quirky (we mean that positively) title has an equally quirky history, starting out as an Xbox Live Arcade title before switching to the Wii because of the 150 MB size restriction. Curiously, an IGN podcast reportedly pinned a 40 MB size limit for the service, a figure which Nintendo has disputed.

Come back with us, if you will. Back to the middle ages of video gaming. Back to the early '90s. Mortal Kombat was a huge, bloody (and we do mean bloody) hit in the arcades. Unfortunately, console makers were concerned with how such a gory game would be received in family living rooms. Thus, the game's signature red blood was replaced with white "sweat" for the console versions...

In addition to updating the PlayStation Network store, Sony has updated its online PC counterpart to include the original PS One title Warhawk as a downloadable game. The price is still the same, $5.99, and you can transfer the game from your Memory Stick-equipped PSP to your PS3 so long as you are signed in to the PSN account that originally bought the game...

We know you're probably getting sick of all the arts and crafts based off this one geometric protagonist. We've seen it all, costumes, plushies, even cake -- but we think Alice Fox has the right frame of mind when it comes to cuboid craftwork -- "our friendly cube is weighted, not a stuffed and cuddly plush toy or a flimsy papercraft."...

When virtual worlds hit mainstream culture, they hit hard. First, it was a recent episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, featuring a fictional game called "Another YOUniverse" (we know, we know). Then, it was last night's CSI: New York, which had a criminal investigation taking part inside Second Life. Read the rest of this entry ยป

In a rare move, 2K Games is using E for All as an opportunity to focus test an upcoming title.Publisher 2K Games has a very small presence at today's inaugural E for All Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. But the company is showing the sharp-looking Sid Meier's Civilization: Revolution, a next generation console iteration of the venerable strategy franchise.
At the booth, showgoers are able to play the Firaxis-developed game for the first time in a public venue. At the gaming stations, 2K reps observe players' reactions and when the demo is over, ask gamers to take a survey about the game's accessibility, whether or not certain aspects were fun and the like.
Focus testing at a consumer event happens rarely, if at all, and 2K's strategy shows that developers can still get some important business done despite the consumer-centric nature of such shows......

Don't feel empty and unfulfilled any longer. VIP access began at 11:00 am PT while general admission guests can peruse the show floor starting at 3:00 pm PT (that's 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm ET, respectively).
Those in the Los Angeles area can attend the ....

We'll admit that when approached with the subject of art in video games, Midway is not the first company that comes to mind. Not to say that their games are not art, as we sidestep that land mine and save the explosion for another day, but Midway's titles have never come across as particularly driven by aesthetic style, making us all the more curious as to the contents of Midway's newly released art book, The Art of Midway: Before Pixels and Polygons...

The next time your 'Fami' freezes up, blow as you might, it could be all over. Then again, it's nearly 2008; maybe it's time for an upgrade. Indeed, Nintendo of Japan is encouraging just that by ceasing hardware support for Famicom, Super Famicom, Nintendo 64, Gameboy and Gameboy Pocket due to a scarcity of repair parts......

David Dreger, better known to the Xbox community by his gamertag "Knuckles Dawson," finally saw the end to his 681-day Xbox achievement streak on Oct. 4. Dreger tells why it happened in his latest Achievement 101 feature on sister-site X3F. After receiving MVP status from Microsoft on Oct. 1., he finally made the decision to stop -- but it took another few days for it to actually happen. Dreger received at least one achievement on his Xbox 360 gamertag every day from Nov. 22, 2005 until Oct. 4, 2007.......

Gametrailers has a pair of video interviews with Peter Moore in his new role as head of EA Sports. Watching these vids remind of exactly why we're going to miss him so much at Microsoft. However, it also gives us hope that EA will stop doing things like releasing mega-buggy versions of Madden upon unsuspecting masses. Or somewhat suspecting masses, at this point..........
