It seems "Game 3.0" might not necessarily be console-specific. According to CVG, a source has informed them that a PSP version of LittleBigPlanet is currently in the works for the PSP. Development duties fall to Sony Studio Liverpool, who have previously made Wipeout Pulse and Pure for the PSP, and are currently working on Wipeout HD for PlayStation 3.

That's about all we know as far as details, as that's all this unnamed source told CVG. LittleBigPlanet's side-scrolling, physics-based gameplay would seem to make it a good fit for the PSP (albeit with drawn-down graphical detail). But how much of the level-editing tools -- essential to the concept of the game -- would make it into a handheld version would seem to be up in the air, not to mention whether there would be any sort of connectivity features with the PS3 version (pictured).
