Weekly recap: PS3 titles go $ 80 Xbox seconds Wii Fame it!

Sony this week said that PS3 inventory at U.S. retail will be steady by May. The PS3 is on track to ship 2 million units in the U.S. by Mar.

Media Create Co. this week reported that PS3 game software it out of the top 30 in Japan. The system was unable to rank game titles in the latest sales data for the region. Sony this week said that Europe PS3 game titles will retail for near $80 U.S. Launch titles include MotorStorm and Resistance: Fall of Man.

Sony this week unveiled a second-generation Blu-ray disc player that will be on par with the price of a high-end PS3. The stand-alone unit is scheduled to be released this summer.

Sony this week dropped new offerings to the Playstation Store. New downloads include Tekken 5, a MotorStorm video, and firmware 1.54.

Capcom this week released a new software update to the action game Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. The update patches multiplayer aspects and game exploits.

Microsoft this week announced that Worms will crawl to the Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360. The turn-based strategy game will retail for 800 Microsoft Points.

Action game Crackdown cracked the top 30 software sales in Japan in its debut week. The Xbox 360 game ranked at No. 21 in overall software sales.

THQ this week said that it will drop MotoGP '07 to the Xbox 360 this fall. The game is said to feature all-new tracks, bikes, and racing customizations.

Wii and DS software this week commanded an 80 percent share in top 10 Japan sales. Wii and DS both held 4 titles top ten sales for the week.

Market research firm IDC this week said that Wii will outperform Xbox 360 and PS3 through 2008. IDC cites Wii's broad appeal and fun software.

Wii this week held the No. 1 position as most popular video game system on Ebay. The motion-sensitive system carries an average selling price of $343.81.

Amazon.com this week restocked the Wii and sold out within minutes. The brisk sales shot Wii to the No. 5 top selling product in its Computer & Video Games divison.

Wii this week outranked the PS3 in sales at Amazon Japan. Wii held at No. 5 and PS3 ranked at No. 38 in its Video Game division.
