Konami has announced that its popular DDR franchise is headed to Wii this year under the name Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party. The title will be the first in the series to challenge players to make use of their upper bodies as well as their legs, with the option to connect up to four mats through the Wii's gamecube controller ports while at the same time keeping in swing with a Wii remote and a nunchuk.
According to Konami: "...Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party enhances the series' trademark interactive gameplay by combining the physically engaging, innovative and easy-to-pick-up-and-play mechanics of the Wii platform. DDR Hottest Party is sure to be the life of the party with 4 player multiplayer, Wii Remote and Nunchuk support, smash hits taken from the last 4 decades of music, entirely new modes and more..."
New modes apparently include a 'Synch' mode, where players will be challenged to stay in synch or fail, as well as a new 'Support' mode and an updated battle system. This game has reportedly been built from the ground up for Wii and will be an exclusive edition.
